Carolyn Cerda joins WBTV as new morning anchor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – WBTV proudly announces the addition of Carolyn Cerda as morning anchor, effective December 2025.

WBTV is excited to welcome Carolyn Cerda to the WBTV news team as the weekday morning anchor from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. She will anchor alongside longtime WBTV anchor Alex Giles, morning anchor and traffic reporter Nia Harden, chief meteorologist Al Conklin and meteorologist Eric Garlick.

Cerda brings more than a decade of experience both on air and behind the scenes, along with a passion for storytelling and a deep commitment to community.

Cerda began her career as a producer in several markets, including the NBC station in her hometown of Dallas, Texas. Most recently, she served as an anchor and reporter in Memphis, Tennessee, where she covered major breaking and national stories such as the Tyre Nichols and Eliza Fletcher cases…
