Officials say the discharging or shooting of fireworks within the city limits is permitted between the hours of 10 a.m. on Dec. 31, and 1 a.m. on Jan. 1.
The city also wants to give people firework safety tips.
- Always use fireworks outdoors and have a bucket of water and hose nearby in case of accidents.
- Designate a safety perimeter where onlookers, homes, and flammable materials can’t be hit with fireworks.
- Supervise children when they are handling sparklers.
- Never use fireworks when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- Please be considerate of all neighbors including veterans, pets, and small children.
