New driving laws aim to improve safety in Tennessee

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — New laws take effect Thursday in Tennessee that could impact your safety on the road.

Among the changes, bicyclist hand signals will now be a required part of the driver license exam in Tennessee.

“It’s been in the manual for a long time. There’s a section on bike safety and how to drive around bicyclists and things like that, but it hasn’t been a part of the test until now with this new law,” Ride JC president Matthew Paul said…
