City extends warning period for new program to catch people who pass school buses

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester has extended its warning period for a new program aimed at catching people who illegally pass stopped school buses.

The city is pushing back the warning period for its school bus safety enforcement program. On Nov. 3, stop-arm cameras were installed on Rochester City School District school buses to catch drivers illegally passing stopped buses.

The warning period was originally slated to end on Jan. 5. This extension is to make sure 5,000 more videos can be reviewed and the team doing the reviewing is fully staffed…
