Popular Sarasota restaurant opens another local spot

A Miami-based restaurant that made its Sarasota area debut last year has expanded further locally, taking over the permanently closed location of a national chain (albeit one that is making a comeback elsewhere.)

Pura Vida Miami is now open at 4994 S. Tamiami Trail #100 in Sarasota’s The Landings shopping plaza, in the former space of Sweet Tomatoes. It is the second Sarasota-Manatee location for Pura Vida after opening in 2024 in University Town Center which, like The Landings, is a Benderson Development property. Pura Vida, founded in 2012 and owned by husband and wife Omer and Jennifer Horev, has several other locations elsewhere in Florida, as well as New York and California.

What is Pura Vida Miami’s menu like?

The restaurant’s menu includes an all-day breakfast offering avocado toast, pasture-raised egg sandwiches and omelets, overnight oats, fruit salad and more.
