1 dead after being struck by vehicle on I-40 service road

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — One person has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing an I-40 service road near Hope Road on Dec. 26.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Dec. 26, a 2004 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on the I-40 Service Road, approximately one-half mile west of Hope Road, when someone attempted to cross the roadway in the path of the vehicle and was struck. DPS stated the person who was hit was a 28-year-old man from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Amarillo man dead after crash on Osage

Officials added the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died on Dec. 29. The crash remains under investigation.
