A 17-year-old was arrested Monday for allegedly helping his father move a body inside a truck that was later found in flames on Christmas Day in the Almeda area, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Homicide detectives charged Santiago Bustamante, 17, with tampering with evidence, a human corpse, two days after his father was arrested for murder and tampering with evidence, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Facebook. Sheriff’s office detectives had found a 25-year-old man dead with a gunshot wound inside a burning truck on the 1100 block of Fellows Road in Houston, Gonzalez said.
The shooting reportedly stemmed from an argument between the teen’s father, 44-year-old Ernesto Bustamante, and 25-year-old Juan Francisco Benitez, according to Gonzalez’s post.
