A 22-year-old man is facing felony gun charges after police say a fight on Interstate 35W ended with a stolen firearm being discharged on the shoulder of the freeway in Minneapolis last week.
Amin Muktar Mohamed is charged in Hennepin County District Court with receiving stolen property involving a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm, both stemming from an incident Dec. 26, 2025.
According to the criminal complaint, Minneapolis police were dispatched at 6:27 p.m. to northbound Interstate 35W near the 46th Street East exit on a report of two people fighting on the highway, with one person reportedly armed.
