SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — For many parents, school breaks can mean scrambling to find safe, engaging and educational care options for their children. Springfield’s Discovery Center is offering a hands-on solution that combines learning with play.
The Discovery Center’s out-of-school program runs from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 and serves children ages 5 to 14. Each day features four activities that balance science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) lessons with creative arts and crafts.
“We have a wonderful out-of-school program,” said Riana Clark, vice president of education at the Discovery Center. “Depending on the time of year, it takes on a different theme. Kids get a chance to explore STEM, do crafts and spend time in the center’s exhibits.”…
