TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Seventy-three percent of Pima County eighth graders aren’t proficient in math, prompting teachers to find new strategies to help students succeed.
The University of Arizona’s Center for the Recruitment and Retention of Mathematics Teachers (CRR) is offering strategies to make math more engaging through free weekend workshops. The center’s director says teachers are grappling with “the most challenging time in 30 years” for math education.
