Common and notorious thief charged with larceny after stealing over $400 of merchandise from store

BOSTON, December 30, 2025 – A Dorchester man with a 42-page criminal record was arraigned Monday in BMC Central on larceny charges after robbing the same store three times in one month, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.

DARRIN O’NEIL, 60, is charged with larceny under $1200, and being a common and notorious thief.

O’Neil has a criminal record dating back to 1983, including numerous convictions for larceny, receiving stolen property, credit card fraud, and breaking and entering. He currently has open cases for larceny from a building and receiving stolen property in Somerville…
