Upstate woman arrested for identity fraud

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Spartanburg woman was arrested Tuesday for reportedly committing fraud.

Ariel Renee Bridges, 27, was charged with identity fraud by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Dec. 30. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requested an investigation into the matter.

The charge stems from an incident on Nov. 20, when Bridges allegedly applied for and received a driver’s license under a different name at the DMV on Southport Road in Spartanburg. The investigation led to her arrest…
