Two affordable housing complexes open in Hayward

On Dec. 10, EAH Housing held a grand opening for Pimentel Place and Mission Paradise—two new developments that are adding 133 affordable apartment homes to Hayward.

Designed to meet the urgent housing needs, the developments serve residents earning between 20% and 80% of the area median income (AMI), and include homes with supportive services for formerly homeless families.

“Mission Paradise and Pimentel Place reflect our commitment to creating high-quality, affordable homes that strengthen communities and expand opportunity,” said Laura Hall, president and CEO of EAH Housing. “In a city like Hayward, where the need for housing far exceeds supply, developments like these are essential to ensuring that teachers, healthcare workers, families and older adults can continue to live, work and thrive here.”

Pimental Place

Located at 22648 2nd St. in Hayward, Pimentel Place introduces 57 new apartments. It offers one- to three-bedroom units with modern finishes, energy-efficient appliances, on-site laundry facilities, bicycle parking, indoor/outdoor gathering spaces and a children’s play area.

Resident services offices are located on-site, with a resident services coordinator offering wellness programs and referrals to local services in partnership with LifeSTEPS. Fifteen residences are reserved for people experiencing chronic homelessness, and 20 for households earning at or below 30% of AMI, including two for referrals from East Bay Innovations for residents with specialized needs…
