GRAND RAPIDS, MI – From sanctuary city requests to a controversial trash proposal, Grand Rapids city commissioners were asked to consider several big items in 2025.
Residents and local business owners showed up in droves at several city commission meetings this year to push back on several proposals the commission voted on or discussed, including renaming requests and big road work projects. Some of the proposals moved forward despite the opposition, while others were declined or tabled for later consideration.
