Knoxville warming centers open amid cold temperatures

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – With cold temperatures settling into East Tennessee this week, several warming centers have opened.

Several churches and nonprofits partner with the Office of Housing Stability to provide warming centers during cold temperatures. They open overnight when temperatures are forecast to be 25 degrees or lower.

The following locations will be open overnight on Dec. 29 and 30:

  • Church Street United Methodist Church, 900 Henley St.
  • Cokesbury Church, 9919 Kingston Pk.
  • Eternal Life Harvest Center
  • 2410 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave.
  • 1801 Western Ave.
  • ReLaunch Back Into Life / Salvation Army, 409 North Broadway
