KPD starts installing cameras for its Real Time Information Center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said the traffic engineering department started installing cameras for the department’s Real Time Information Center.

KPD said the first camera was installed at the intersection of Chapman Highway and Moody Avenue. It said the camera is highly visible and marked as a KPD camera.

The department said it will initially have 10 cameras installed for the information center in prominent locations. The locations were chosen based on three years of police calls for service data and consideration of available infrastructure…
