HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County police and fire crews rescued a dog from an island on the Waccamaw River on Tuesday, HCFR said on social media.
HCFR crews were dispatched Tuesday afternoon to the area of Chris Anderson Landing off E. Highway 9 in the Longs area for a call about a dog in distress, according to the department. HCFR brought in boat crews from Station 40 (Hickory Grove), while HCPD brought environmental officers to get to the island, rescue the dog and bring it back to the landing.
HCFR said the “very agreeable dog was happy to be saved.” The dog’s owner was located early Wednesday afternoon.
