Athlete turns down state championship to race able-bodied swimmers

The Florida High School Athletic Association introduced a disabled division for swimming this year. Noah Busch could have entered. Given his credentials — American records, a Parapan American Games medal, a spot on the U.S. Paralympics Swimming national team — he likely would have faced one or two competitors, if any.

He would have dominated. He would have won a state championship.

He chose the regular division instead…
