Sarasota County Emergency Management has coordinated with municipal and community partners to provide cold weather shelters tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 30, due to the expected drop in temperatures.
Salvation Army – Center of Hope (Sarasota)
- Location: 1400 10th St., Sarasota
- Cold weather operation plan will be in effect tonight
- Dinner served: 5–5:30 p.m.
- Guests must leave campus after dinner and may return at 7 p.m. for shelter entry
- Check-in deadline: 8:30 p.m.
- Showers available: 7–8:30 p.m.
- Valid ID required at check-in
- To-go breakfast provided in the morning
- All guests must depart campus by 6 a.m.
100 Church Cold Weather Shelter (North Port)
- UPDATE: The 100 Church in North Port will NOT be open for full cold weather shelter operations tonight, Dec. 30, but blankets and dinner will be available. Visit www.scgov.net/breeze for information on Breeze services. The Breeze Rider app can also be used to check bus arrival times and plan routes.
The Charlotte CARE Center (formerly the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition) will offer shelter Tuesday and Wednesday nights for those needing refuge from the cold.
