Tuesday was Syracuse’s snowiest day in more than 30 years: Tuesday’s lake effect snowstorm that slammed Central New York broke several snowfall records for Syracuse. As of 5:30 p.m., about 19.3 inches of snow had fallen in Syracuse, a record for Dec. 30 and the city’s snowiest single day since the Blizzard of 1993. Oh, and keep those shovels handy — more snow could be on the way tonight.

A Syracuse nursing home is rated among the nation’s worst: While one Syracuse-area nursing home was removed from a federal list of the worst nursing homes in the nation, another CNY nursing home found itself added to that list.

State police seize 170 vehicles in crackdown on Thruway toll evaders: State Police seized 170 vehicles and issued more than 1,000 tickets this fall targeting toll evasion and illegal license plates on the Thruway, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced. The enforcement took place in the Syracuse, Albany and Hudson Valley areas.
