A Maryland woman was arrested for theft after allegedly skip-scanning $174 worth of merchandise at Walmart.
An asset protection associate of Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, caught 64-year-old Lorria Ann Aydelott skip-scanning merchandise over surveillance cameras around 1:50 p.m. Dec. 19, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Footage of the incident showed she reached into her grocery cart for a pack of chicken and a loaf of bread. She then held them together, scanning only the bread, before putting both back into the grocery cart. She repeated this process for 48 items valued at $174.05, the report said.
A later check of Aydelott’s criminal history revealed convictions for petty larceny on Oct. 27, 1986, out of Nassau County and misdemeanor larceny on July 25, 2024, out of Cumberland County, the report said…
