Police Say 18-Year-Old Set Fire at Sioux City Wendy’s, Faces Felony Arson Charge

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Sioux City police have arrested an 18-year-old after a fire broke out inside a Wendy’s restaurant Tuesday morning, forcing employees and customers to evacuate. Investigators say the fire was intentionally set, leading to felony charges.

According to the Sioux City Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, to Wendy’s located at 3805 Gordon Drive following reports of a fire inside the building. Sioux City Fire Rescue responded and extinguished the fire, rendering the scene safe.
