Kansas Highway Patrol reports increase in DUI arrests, speeding tickets around Christmas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Highway Patrol released its annual Christmas Holiday Activity Report on Tuesday.

The report covers the time period of 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.

The patrol saw a large increase in the number of DUI arrests, which went up 285% from the 2024 Christmas enforcement.

Troopers also issued more speeding tickets and speeding warnings compared with previous years. The number of speeding tickets increased 238% from 2024, and the number of warnings more than doubled.
