ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm returns to the boxing ring on Saturday, as she takes on WBA Lightweight Women’s Champion Stephanie Han in Puerto Rico. A Boxing Hall of Famer and former UFC Champion, Holly is fighting for her first boxing title in over a decade.
“You know what, I want to come back and I want to be a champion and come back to a sport that was always great when I did it before, and to be able to fight in another weight division. I never fought in this weight division in boxing before, but I did for many years in MMA. So, it kind of made sense to come back and be able to fight in a weight division that I don’t have a belt in yet, and I will be able to fight for a belt. So, that’s my drive, and that’s my passion,” said Holly Holm.
The 44-year-old Holm will have a tough test on Saturday in Puerto Rico, as she takes on undefeated Stephanie Han (11-0) in a 10-round bout that features three-minute rounds.
