Boulder City cancels New Year’s Eve party due to weather

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Boulder City announced Tuesday it was cancelling its New Year’s Eve party because of the weather.

“Ugh… some sad news about the Boulder City New Year’s Eve Street Party,” the city wrote on social media.

The city cited the weather as the reason for the cancellation, stating that a 50 to 70 percent chance of rain was expected during setup and event hours, along with cold temperatures and high humidity.

“With outdoor staging, sound, lighting, and electrical production involved, this puts us beyond our safety and production threshold for moving forward,” the city said.
