South Carolina state police are planning to have checkpoints on Rock Hill region roads Wednesday into Thursday as people ring in 2026 starting on New Year’s Eve.
The places for the checkpoints will not be released in advance.
Drivers in York and Lancaster counties can expect to see S.C. Highway Patrol checkpoints in the evening through overnight hours, said Master Trooper Hannah Davidson. The highway patrol is seeking to eliminate DUI and impaired driving, and urges anyone out for social events who is drinking alcohol to use a designated driver, ride-sharing or some other way to get around and home…
