Several inches of snow possible in Michigan Thursday

MICHIGAN — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for several west and southwest Michigan counties, including Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren, as snowfall and gusty winds continue to affect the region through early Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, areas including Ludington, South Haven, Muskegon, Holland, Jenison, Hart, and Grand Haven can expect additional snow accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches, with localized totals up to 4 inches possible. Winds are expected to gust as high as 35 mph, which may lead to blowing snow, particularly in open and rural areas.

The advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, and hazardous travel conditions are expected to persist through the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Snow-covered and slippery roads are likely, especially on bridges, overpasses, and less-traveled routes…
