Frost advisory for portions of Southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast New Year’s morning

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A frost advisory is in effect for the Gulf Coast from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. New Year’s morning.

The advisory includes inland Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties. It also includes the city of Fort Myers.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s for inland communities outlined in the advisory. Light winds and cold temperatures could lead to some frost over surfaces early New Year’s morning.

Take steps to protect tender plants as frost could damage them.
