As people in Aston Township and parts of neighboring Bethel and Upper Chichester townships were preparing to celebrate the Christmas holiday, they were hit with news that a Monroe Energy subsidy tank, at the Chelsea Tank Farm on Cherry Tree Road in Aston, sprang a leak of 278,000 gallons of gasoline months ago.
The leak, totaling 9,000 barrels of unleaded fuel actually occurred in August. The Tank Farm is owned by MIPC LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Monroe Energy, LLC.
