ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Tracy sent a letter to the department on New Year’s Eve outlining why the City was safer in 2025.
In the letter, Chief Tracy wrote that overall crime and murder offenses were down in 2025 compared to the past four years. Data released by the police department on Wednesday afternoon showed 139 homicides for 2025, which is the lowest number of homicides since 2013, when the city saw 120.
