WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man was sentenced in Sedgwick County District Court earlier this month for insurance fraud.
Shawn Gales, 37, was sentenced to 18 months of probation, according to Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt. He was also ordered to pay $2,273.93 to Progressive Insurance and $1,757.50 to Golden Plains Credit Union in restitution.
He was accused of reporting his dirt bike as stolen to the police and to his insurance company so that he could get a payout on the bike’s loan.
