Eugene’s Greenhill Humane Society cares for more than 5,750 animals in 2025

EUGENE, Ore. – The Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene had a bustling year in 2025, providing care for more than 5,750 animals spanning 17 different species.

A remarkable 99 percent of these animals were from Lane County, underscoring Greenhill’s local impact. Funding for the organization came from a mix of sources. Seventeen percent was from contracts and service fees, while a significant 83 percent came from donations and grants. Notably, the national nonprofit Petco Love contributed $15,000.

“Our numbers are right on par with what we had with last year if not more,” said Kelly Fleischmann, community engagement manager at Greenhill Humane Society. “So with each subsequent year we are able to provide more care and our goal is to provide care to families within Lane County and their animals because always our goal is to make sure that families and pets stay together,” said Fleischmann…
