Colonie Police investigating thefts from cars in Latham

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Colonie Police announced on Wednesday that an investigation is underway into multiple reports of thefts from cars in Latham. The thefts allegedly took place over the weekend in the Shelter Cove and Canterbury Crossing neighborhoods.

According to Colonie PD, several unlocked vehicles on Whitaker Drive, Stacey Court, Vineyard Street, and Loudon Road reportedly had items stolen from them overnight between December 27 and December 29. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area and are pursuing leads in an attempt to identify a suspect of the thefts.

Police stated that residents are encouraged to park in well-lit areas, avoid storing their valuables in their cars when parked, and lock their vehicles overnight, even when at home.
