HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — A new restaurant celebrating the culinary traditions of “The Big Easy” is now open in the Birmingham area.
The restaurant, toujours, opened Wednesday in its location in Southlake Village, just off Valleydale Road in the same mall area as the Faulkner University extension in Hoover. The menu features many staples of New Orleans food, such as shrimp, oyster bread and chicken andouille gumbo.
Toujours, which is French for “always,” is the latest food offering from Daniel Mitchell, who previously served as executive chef at the Inverness Country Club, Grille 29 in Birmingham’s Brookwood Village and the Greystone Golf & Country Club, where he was head of the kitchen for 13 years…
