WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — CBS 42 has learned more about a police raid on a religious group in Walker County.
Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said a group that calls itself “More than Profit/Prophet Ministries” had been living in tents at a five-acre property in Empire illegally for months. Smith said up to 40 people at times lived at the property.
“I don’t know what their intent was, whether it was good intent, bad intent,” Smith said. “I can’t speak to what the group’s intentions were. (The group’s leader) They put out a video months back that was concerning not only to law enforcement but to the community. It was almost an indirect threat to the community.”…
