BOSTON (WWLP) – One State House headline trumped all others this year: state politicians spent days and weeks of their year clashing with the federal government in 2025.
From cuts to research funding and SNAP benefits, to immigration crackdowns, to unprecedented changes to vaccine recommendations, the Trump administration’s policies often directly contradicted Massachusetts’ top lawmakers’ goals in 2025.
Much of the year was spent at press conferences, where the governor and other top lawmakers denounced Trump policies and announced ways the state would counteract them. In the case of changing vaccine policy, Massachusetts released its own set of recommendations and denounced R.F.K Jr.-led changes.
