GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A new $19 million community center on Grand Rapids’ southeast side will be opening soon with year-round community programming for residents.
A ribbon-cutting has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, for the new Martin Luther King Park Lodge at 1200 Martin Luther King Jr. St. SE (formerly Franklin Street). Details are still being finalized for the event, but interim parks director Laura Cleypool said she is eager to finally open up the new space, which has been years in the making.
