An 18-year-old Georgia angler enjoyed an early Christmas present recently in the form of state-record approval for her catch of a Florida pompano.
Chandler E. Simon, of Atlanta, caught the 3-pound, 6-ounce Florida pompano on Nov. 25, 2025, while fishing at Christmas Creek in Camden County.
After a review, the Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources announced Simon’s catch as a women’s record on Dec. 22.
