The St. Joseph County Police Department responded to around 66 calls between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
About half of those calls were due to crashes and slide-offs. Two marked police cruisers were also struck while officers worked on crashes. One was stuck by a semi, and another was struck by a plow. Both officers are okay according to police.
According to a Facebook post by SJCPD, road conditions were amongst the slickest they had seen all year, which led to numerous crashes and slide-offs.
