Today [December 31], at 5:15PM, the Santa Barbara Police Department Communications Center received a call where a passing motorist was reporting seeing a man with a gun.
The witness reported that a male was standing on the north sidewalk on State St., east of La Cumbre St., pointing a rifle into the sky. Numerous Santa Barbara Police Department Officers responded to the area.
Information was limited as the witness had left the area. There was only one witness to the alleged man with a rifle. As officers arrived in the area, they shut down vehicle traffic on State St. between La Cumbre St. and Hope Ave…
