In a tragic turn of events, the search for a missing hiker in California resulted in the discovery of three bodies, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a report on the matter, a call was received at about 11:30 a.m. on December 29 regarding a missing 19-year-old male hiker who had fallen approximately 500 feet near the notoriously exposed Devil’s Backbone trail on 4,193-foot Mount Baldy. The call for help came from the fallen hiker’s friend and hiking companion, who hiked to an area with cellular service after the fall and was able to provide GPS coordinates that assisted in the rescue effort.
