CALVERTON, Md. (7News) — One person was hospitalized after a New Year’s Day apartment fire forced some residents to escape from balconies in Calverton, Maryland.
According to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS, crews were called just before 2 a.m. to a structure fire in the 3800 block of Lighthouse Way. Fire officials said flames were showing from the top floor of a three-story, multi-family building, with occupants reported trapped inside.
A second alarm was called as crews worked to knock down the fire and rescue residents.
