CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — A Cedar Rapids man previously convicted in connection with a 2020 murder has been given more prison time on gun charges.
Back in August, Marshawn Jeffries pleaded guilty to possession of a gun by a felon. He was sentenced Monday to more than three years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
According to police and court documents, Jeffries was a passenger in a rideshare car that pulled over for a traffic violation on Feb 25. Officers said they smelled marijuana and asked Jeffries to get out of the car. Police said Jeffries appeared nervous and tried to cover his waistband…
