Iowa on track to see lowest number of fatal crashes in a century

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCCI) – Iowa is on track to see its lowest number of deaths from car crashes in a century this year.

As of Monday, 259 Iowans have died in 2025 from crashes, significantly down from previous years. Recent crash fatality data shows 344 deaths in 2024, 375 in 2023 and 334 in 2022.
