Scott firefighters respond to 6 fires during New Year’s celebrations; no injuries reported

SCOTT, La. (NEWS 15) — New Year’s celebrations kept the Scott Fire Department busy with several fires in the final hours of 2025 into the start of 2026. Fire Chief Chad Sonnier said crews responded to six separate incidents in less than four hours.

The first fire was on Olive Vista Drive on December 31 a little after 9:30 p.m., where a fire started in the chimney of a home. The homeowner and family escaped safely, and the American Red Cross provided them with accommodations.

Another call just about 30 minutes later involved a fully involved fire on Stoneburg Drive, where the Scott Fire Department assisted the Judice Fire Department in firefighting efforts…
