In June, 8 people in a 28-foot Chris-Craft boat were caught up in a fierce and unexpected wind, hail and rainstorm which tipped the boat over. Six people died in the accident. Investigators say none of them was wearing a life jacket. Of the two survivors though, one was wearing a life vest, the other clinging to one as they were rescued. Waves at Lake Tahoe were estimated at 8 to ten feet.
In August, Pershing County Sheriff’s Office reported a murder at the annual Burning Man Festival. Investigators say 37-year-old Vladim Kruglov from Washington died after being stabbed to death with a green bladed kitchen knife. It was Kruglov’s first visit to Black Rock City. Investigators say he was killed during the night of the burn. The suspect is still at large…
