Yamhill County’s Tipsy Tows helps impaired drivers get home for New Year’s, 35th year running

YAMHILL COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – One Yamhill County towing company is offering free rides during the New Year’s holiday to help impaired drivers and their vehicles get home safely as part of its 35th annual Tipsy Tows program.

The program, run by Gale’s Towing & Recovery, provides free transportation home for impaired drivers and their vehicles during holidays such as Christmas, New Year’s, and the Fourth of July. Drivers can request the service by calling the company.

“We would rather pick them up and take them home for free than have to deal with the aftermath the next day and the tears,” said Steven Gale, president of Gale’s Towing & Recovery. “People come and get the contents of their son or daughter’s vehicle, and it’s heart-wrenching,” he continued…
