Capital Region’s first baby of 2026 born at St. Peter’s

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Capital Region’s first baby of the new year was born exactly at midnight at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Ryan Sebastian Villa Conteron was born to parents Joselin Conteron and Henry Villa of Albany.

Ryan was born weighing 6 lbs, 14 oz., and measuring 19 inches. He is the couple’s first child.

“The first birth of the new year is a reminder of life’s most precious gift,” said Benjamin Pinzer, director of maternity and newborn services at St. Peter’s Health Partners. “Each of the thousands of babies born each year at St. Peter’s Hospital has a unique story, and we’re privileged to be part of this family’s first chapter of the year.”
