WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is moving forward with plans to demolish what’s left of the historic St. Elizabeths Hospital on its property in Southeast.
“It is a national historic landmark,” said Dr. Robert Kirkbride, of PreservationWorks, a non-profit group that fights to keep these buildings and other former mental asylums standing.
