Tracking possibility of strong storms this weekend; Drought update for AL and GA

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- After a chilly morning, New Year’s Day has been rather pleasant. Highs have reached into the mid-60s this afternoon.

The Weekend: Starting Friday, we are tracking our next storm system. Isolated showers will enter tomorrow evening. Overnight, the heavier rain will likely remain to our north, but some of this rain could brush parts of Troup, Chambers, and Meriwether counties.

As the front pushes through on Saturday afternoon, there is a low chance for some stronger storms. Most of the storms will be to our southeast, but we are still not ruling out a severe storm that afternoon. Conditions will dry back out by Sunday morning…
